Pride Abrasive Combination Water Stone 400/3K (8214003000) – Double-Sided Sharpening Stone
This Pride Abrasive Combination Water Stone combines a 400 grit (coarse-medium) face with a 3000 grit (fine) face on one double-sided block, supplied in a cardboard storage case. It is designed to take a blade from repair through to a refined finish without needing to change stones.
Use the 400 grit side for reshaping a dull or damaged blade and removing noticeable wear before moving to a finer grit, then turn the stone over and move to the 3000 grit side for refining the edge left by a medium stone and removing coarser scratch marks. As with all Pride Abrasive water stones, soak the stone in water before use and keep the surface wet throughout sharpening for the best results.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the 400/3000 grit combination used for?
The 400 grit side is coarse-medium and suited to reshaping a dull or damaged blade and removing noticeable wear before moving to a finer grit, while the 3000 grit side is fine and used for refining the edge left by a medium stone and removing coarser scratch marks.
How long should I soak the stone before sharpening?
Submerge the stone in clean water for 10-15 minutes, or until it stops releasing air bubbles, before each use.
Does the stone need to be flattened over time?
Yes, like all water stones it will dish gradually with use. A dedicated flattening stone will keep both faces true for consistent sharpening angles.
