Their triangular shape with a dedicated sharpening groove provides versatility for sharpening plain edges, serrations, and pointed tools with precision and control.

Constructed from Cubic Boron Nitride (CBN), a material nearly as hard as diamond, these rods remove metal efficiently while maintaining a consistent cutting surface. Ideal for restoring extremely dull or damaged edges, they serve as the perfect first step before moving to Spyderco’s fine ceramic stones for a razor-sharp finish.
